I have been playing ultimate since 2012, starting on the very first girls team at Mounds View. I played for the U of M Women's team for 3 years, captaining as a senior. I've played both mixed (Spirit Fowl) and women's (Pop) Club since 2014, qualifying for Club Nationals most years. I've also played with the professional ultimate frisbee team, Minnesota Strike, for a few seasons. I started coaching MV Girls Ultimate in 2017 spending my first year as an assistant coach. Excited to watch the team and program grow!

I've been assistant coaching the MV girls ultimate team since 2019, and am excited to be back again this year! I started playing ultimate as a senior at MV in 2013 and played for the U of M women's team in college. I started as an assistant coach for the MVU girls team in 2024. I joined my first ultimate team in college at the University of Iowa and have been playing on different mixed and women’s teams since. I’m excited for another great season with MVU!

I started playing Ultimate as a sophomore at Mounds View in 2010 and have never looked back. The incredible Ultimate community, that promotes camaraderie and respect between competitors, and that welcomed me into the sport is something that I wish to share with the athletes that I coach. Having returned to Mounds View Ultimate in 2019 as an Assistant Coach and having seen how much the program has grown over the years, I am excited to be part of this team again and look forward to what we can accomplish together.

I started playing ultimate at Mound View High School in 2004. My passion for coaching began as the head coach for the college men's team at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from 2012-2019. Since there is not much of a scene in Iowa, I started playing frisbee with my high school cross country team after practices. Once I started playing in college I gained a new appreciation for the commitment and dedication to the sport so many have. This has been a theme in each new place I move to and each community I start playing with. There are so many wonderful people and hard workers, that I fall back in love with frisbee each time I meet someone who shares the passion for hard work and dedication to perfecting their craft.

I have been playing ultimate since 2007, starting with the South High School team. I played for the U of M Women's team for 4 years, and right out of college started my own club team. Since then I've played with various club teams, most recently playing with No Touching and attending nationals in 2016, 2017 and 2018. I've also played with the masters team (masters eligibility starting at 30 years for women matching players) Hey Babe for several years, attending masters nationals each year. I have coached an adult mixed team, a couple years of high school at South, and started coaching MV Boys Ultimate in 2023 as an assistant coach for the JV team. Happy to be back for another season!

I have been playing frisbee for roughly 7 years. I started in 7th grade and played in high school, and then my last two years of college on the University of Minnesota frisbee team (Grey Duck). I played a year of club frisbee on a men's team my sophomore year of high school and additionally tried out for the U20 USA team in 2020. I played U17, U20 Men's and Mixed for Minnesota Superior during my high school career. I am overjoyed to be helping coach the JV team as the program made a significant difference in my life and I would like to give back.

I first started playing ultimate the summer before my freshman year at MV in 2004 because my brother was on the team and would drag me to summer pick-up games. I had played other sports as a kid, but didn't enjoy the high completive nature of high school sports. I was drawn by the spirit of the game and the high emphasis and everyone having a good time. I played all 4 years in high school and was captain my senior year, but didn't play much in college due to an Achilles injury in high school. I still enjoy throwing around a disc and am excited to get back into the Spirit of the game.

I live in South St. Paul with my wife, Kassandra, and our dog Luna. I have been the Youth director at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Circle pines, since graduating from Bethel in 2012.

I believe Ultimate is not just a sport, but a way of life. Embedded into the game are so many great parallels: unlimited decisions to be made, assessments of options and skills leading you toward how best to proceed, navigation of human cooperation, leadership, and conflict. And you have full autonomy and control over how you show up, engage, behave, and grow through these opportunities. You will no doubt become a healthier person – mentally and physically – by playing this sport.

My wife and I live in the Mounds View district where we are raising four sons, the oldest of whom are just getting interested in ultimate. I'm delighted to help coach and contribute toward a positive experience playing this sport for all the middle school kids. And while I've not coached ultimate before, I have been playing competitive club ultimate for over 20 years. And I have coached T-Ball and coach-pitch baseball for 7 summers.

That is, unless I’m chasing a frisbee.

I love frisbee because I feel unshackled from gravity in that moment. It’s the way a disc cuts and slides through air - defying every lesson of ball sports. I float with it.

Deep in each person I coach is a spatial genius. The frisbee part of that genius lays dormant in our minds until we unlock and express it.
